296-Unit Opportunity Zone Project Recognized with CRE Award in the Multifamily Category
Jasper, Cityview’s mixed-use opportunity zone project located in the heart of Los Angeles, was recently recognized by Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the top projects of 2022. Jasper received a CRE Award in the multifamily category, honoring the project’s construction, design and architecture, as well as its impact on residents and the surrounding community.
Los Angeles Business Journal’s CRE Awards program honors the most impactful and notable projects of the past year, and their contributions to LA’s economy and skyline.
“We are honored to be recognized among the top projects of the year for our work on Jasper, a project that is transforming a defunct bookbinding factory into nearly 300 units of multifamily housing,” said Cityview CEO Sean Burton. “This area is experiencing significant demand, and we are looking forward to delivering this much-needed housing to Los Angeles in Q2 of this year.”
Nestled in the urban, diverse, thriving Los Angeles community adjacent to University of Southern California and less than two miles from Downtown, Jasper is a seven-story mixed-use building with 296 units, including 25 units designated very low affordable and three designated moderate income affordable. The property, which sits one block from the 23rd Street Metro station, provides easy access to transit, jobs and entertainment for residents.
Jasper features two expansive rooftop sky decks offering sweeping views of Downtown Los Angeles and one of the largest rooftop dog parks in the city. A focal point mural by a local artist will be created as part of Cityview’s commitment to community art. The two-story club room is designed for beauty, functionality and community building, while a resort-style pool and spa deck as well as an expansive fitness center and movement studio will promote resident wellness. The project plans to feature an indoor grow garden along with a resident farmers’ market, which will be free and allow residents to enjoy the fresh produce grown on site.
The project will also boast a large CV Works business center with several private offices to allow for easy work from home. Smart door locks and systems and managed Wi-Fi throughout the community ensure the technology is turnkey ready.
Jasper is built to LEED Silver standards, with an expected 20-30% improved efficiency over similar non-green buildings.
